The relaxation and mindfulness skills workshop will help students learn and practice ways to increase self-awareness and understanding, be their authentic selves, and explore a deeper meaning in life. Students will learn effective coping strategies for dealing with the different roles they fulfill and the responsibilities that come with them. The workshop will include psycho-educational information, group discussion, and will utilize experiential activities.

This workshop is designed to help students recognize thought patterns that are affecting them in negative ways. Skills will be introduced that help students change these thought patterns. This might include skills such as mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and grounding.

This workshop is designed to help students who sometimes feel unable to adequately control their emotions. Discussion will include ideas to determine when, where, and why emotional expression is appropriate and/or important. Students will learn more effective coping skills for times when emotions feel uncontrollable.

The stress management workshop will focus on helping students to better understand what stress is, what causes stress, and the effect of stress on the mind and body. The workshop will teach students how to recognize stress, coping strategies, and stress reduction techniques. Students will learn how to differentiate between “real” stress and “perceived” stress and will get information on how they can better manage their time and stress levels.
